Polynucleotides are DNA fragments derived from salmon. They are biocompatible and safe, having been purified and processed to be used medically.
Salmon DNA is chosen because its nucleotide sequence is remarkably similar to human DNA which enhances its compatibility and effectiveness in human skin treatments.
The name of the product is Rejuran. Rejuran promotes skin regeneration, improves elasticity and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles when injected into the skin. Areas treated include under eyes, full face and neck.
First, you have a personal consultation with your doctor to discuss your wishes and expectations for the treatment. Your doctor will advise you and select the right product for you. They will also inform you about your full treatment plan.
Treatment consists of multiple injections, 3-4 treatment sessions at an interval of 4 weeks apart. Then followed by a single maintenance session 6-12 months.
Both products are made from hyaluronic acid. However, skin boosters are designed to hydrate and plump the skin rather than structure or shape facial features.
Before your treatment, make sure to discuss your medical history and expectations with your doctor. If you take anticoagulant medication regularly, chat with your nurse about stopping it for 14 days before your treatment.
